What Comes with a Home Hyperbaric Chamber? A Complete Equipment Checklist
A home hyperbaric chamber is usually more than the chamber itself. Depending on the model, a complete setup may include an air compressor, oxygen concentrator, cooling equipment, mattress, mask, hoses, controls, and setup documents.

1. What Should a Complete Package Include?
| Component | Purpose | Included? |
|---|---|---|
| Chamber | Creates the pressurized space | Yes |
| Compressor | Pressurizes and ventilates | Usually |
| Concentrator | Supplies oxygen to the mask | Not always |
| Cooling | Manages heat or moisture | Not always |
| Mattress/chair | Supports the user | Varies |
Confirm every machine, hose, fitting, comfort item, document, and service in the quotation.
2. The Chamber and Pressure Components
The chamber may be flexible or rigid. Built-in parts can include windows, a zipper or door, air and oxygen ports, pressure gauges, deflate controls, and relief valves.
What to confirm
- Pressure range, dimensions, occupancy, and weight limit
- Internal and external pressure displays
- Normal and emergency pressure-release options
- Number of windows and accessory ports
Some entry-level models include only an external gauge.
3. Air Compressor vs. Oxygen Concentrator
The concentrator supplies oxygen to the mask.
They are not interchangeable.
Air compressor
The compressor inflates, pressurizes, and ventilates an air-pressurized chamber. A package may also include a filter, air hose, fittings, and sound control.
Oxygen concentrator
A concentrator supplies oxygen through a mask, headset, or BIBS. It may be included, optional, or shipped separately. Confirm flow, concentration, performance under chamber pressure, voltage, and warranty.
Oxygen accessories
- Mask or headset
- Oxygen hose, valve, flow meter, and connectors
- BIBS inhalation and exhalation pathways, if provided
OXYAIR air-pressurized chambers deliver oxygen separately through a mask or BIBS; the chamber is not filled with pure oxygen.
4. Cooling and Moisture Control
| Equipment | Main Function |
|---|---|
| Cooling fan | Moves air |
| Air cooler | Helps lower incoming-air temperature |
| Cold dryer | Helps cool air and reduce moisture |
| Dehumidifier | Reduces humidity |
| Air conditioner | Provides active temperature control |
“Cooling system included” is not specific enough. Ask what equipment is supplied, whether it needs water or drainage, how it is controlled, and whether it requires another outlet.
5. Mattress, Pillow, or Chair
A lying chamber may include a thin mat, shaped mattress, washable cover, pillow, or positioning supports. A sitting chamber may include a fixed chair, adjustable chair, or no chair at all.
Confirm what is shown in the product photo versus what is actually packed. Also check whether comfort items can be cleaned and whether replacements are available. Do not add unapproved foam, synthetic blankets, powered furniture, or electronic devices inside the chamber.
6. Hoses, Connectors, and Small Parts
Confirm air and oxygen hoses, quick-connect fittings, clamps, oxygen valves, port caps, frame connectors, seals, power cords, and approved plug adapters. Ask for hose quantities and lengths rather than accepting “all accessories included.”
7. Manuals, Warranty, and Support
Confirm the packing list, manual, assembly guide, cleaning instructions, maintenance schedule, troubleshooting guide, warranty, and spare-parts process. Check whether the chamber, compressor, concentrator, and cooling equipment share one warranty.
8. What Your Home Still Needs
The package normally excludes room and electrical work. Confirm delivery clearance, flat flooring, service space, voltage, plug type, required outlets, grounding, ventilation, approved cleaners, and supervision. “Works with a household outlet” does not prove that every machine can share one circuit.
